HCP Emergency GEAT Funding Now Available Through geat2GO

Home Care Package (HCP) clients with an urgent need for assistive equipment and products can now access up to $2,500 through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

Two older females walking and chatting, one using a walker The Department of Health has provided increased funding for Goods, Equipment and Assistive Technology (GEAT) under the CHSP and expanded access to the program for relevant HCP clients.

Clients allocated or approved for a HCP may be eligible if an Aged Care Assessment Team has assessed an urgent or immediate need for equipment and current funds in the client’s HCP are insufficient or not yet available.

Local Allied Health Professional assessment costs can also be included in the $2,500 funding limit if clients are not able to access Allied Health through CHSP .
