Female Indigo staff member in a polo shirt standing outside and open car doorYour role/title/length of time at Indigo: I've been an Occupational Therapist for the Commonwealth Home Support Program for one year.

What does your role involve?

I assess customers to assist with equipment, home modifications and interventions to help them to remain safe and independent in their own homes.

What do you like most about your role and working at Indigo?

The people I get to meet on my home visits are always welcoming and have interesting stories to tell.

I've enjoyed the travel into the countryside this year, like getting to see the canola fields on my way to a visit on a farm in Mount Barker.

Tell us about the most interesting project worked on during your career:

Recently I was given the opportunity to run a focus group with Indigo's Schools team for their Telethon Project: Engaging in Eye Gaze.  The project utilised the latest eye gaze technology and Indigo’s allied health professionals’ expertise to assist children and young people with complex communication and physical needs develop communication skills and their ability to actively participate in recreation and educational opportunities.

The staff were so appreciative of Indigo's input and it was obviously making a positive difference in the children using the technology, increasing their communication and enjoyment at school.

Describe a memorable moment arising from your role:

Probably a home visit I did to a lovely farmer and farm in Mount Barker. After the home visit the customer told me to drive up to the mobile tower lookout above his property for my lunch break which had amazing views of the Stirling ranges.

Of the four Indigo values, which one do you express the most strongly during your workday and why? (Integrity, passion, creativity, together)?

Together - I work with a great team (even though often virtually) and because of all the different customers I get to meet.
