Indigo's NDIS Driving team are passionate in supporting you through the assessment, vehicle modification and licencing process.
Our NDIS Driving services can support you by assessing (an occupational therapist driver assessment (OTDA) is required for all vehicle modifications) and prescribing the right vehicle modifications so you can get back on the roads and maintain your independence.
Vehicle modifications made to your vehicle will assist you to drive safely, and can include modifications to:
- Steering
- Brake and accelerator controls
- Modifications to assist you to transfer into the driver’s seat, or even to drive
from your wheelchair.
Once your vehicle modifications are complete you will be required to sit a Department of Transport practical driving assessment to be assessed for an ‘endorsed licence.’
Our NDIS Driving services provide rehabilitation to people adapting to vehicle modifications. Driving rehabilitation is provided either by an Occupational Therapist or a Driving Instructor experienced in rehabilitation.
