Rail and Ramp Prescription for Home Modifications

About the Workshop

This workshop will focus on rail and ramp prescription, the application of relevant Australian Standards and relate this back to clinical reasoning.  We will also look at strategies and ways to document and communicate your vision with the trades.

Learning Objectives:
  • Develop working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Building Codes
  • Ability to apply clinical reasoning
  • Establish a toolkit to effectively communicate your vision to the trades who will be doing the work.

Target Audience
Early career therapists or those new to the area of home modifications.

About the Presenter
Claire Cunningham, PlanOT

Her unique skill set combines a clinical career as an Occupational Therapist in Perth with a background in Architectural Science. She is passionate about accessibility in the built environment, particularly within the provision of dignified and equitable access for all. Claire is recognised as a suitably qualified complex home modifications Occupational Therapist by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

    *Social distancing protocols in line with current government recommendations will be adhered to. If restrictions change outside the control of the participant and the session is cancelled due to COVID, participant will be able to opt for a future session.
