About the Workshop
This 1.5-hour session will be delivered by an Indigo Occupational Therapist and is a valuable learning opportunity for students and anyone working in aged care, community health, disability, and education settings.
Workshop Outline
- An introduction to Assistive Technology (AT) - what is it and how can it help people?
- A focused presentation on AT and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), looking at communication aids, computer access equipment, alternative access options, assistive learning technology, iPads and tablets, and environmental controls.
- A tour of Indigo's Experience Centre, showcasing a wide range of AT, covering the areas of mobility aids, personal care and dressing, kitchen aids, telecommunication, and more.
